Android bug: WhatsApp after engineer says app used his device’s mic while he was asleep

WhatsApp has responded after a Twitter engineer claimed the app used his device’s microphone in the background while he was asleep. “We believe this is a bug on Android that mis-attributes information in their Privacy Dashboard and have asked Google to investigate and remediate. Users have full control over their mic settings,” it said.
