To avoid bitterness, residents of Chiri village in Haryana gifted an SUV car and ₹2.11 crore to a candidate who lost the Sarpanch elections on November 12. Dharmpal Dalal alias Kala, who was overwhelmed by the gesture, said, “I’ll contribute to the village welfare activities like before after today’s gesture.” He lost the elections to Naveen Dalal by 66 votes.
