The Israeli national elections were held for the fifth time since 2019 on Tuesday. A political deadlock has affected the country for the last three and a half years. The main candidates in the fray are former premier Benjamin Netanyahu, who is facing corruption charges, and centrist caretaker Prime Minister Yair Lapid.
