At least seven people were killed and dozens were injured as thunderstorms and hurricane-force winds swept across France and Italy on Thursday. The storms generated windspeed of over 220 km/h in some areas, France’s weather agency said. The winds uprooted trees in Tuscany, and about 45,000 houses were left without electricity in Corsica.
