Ruchira Kamboj, India’s new permanent representative to the UN

India’s envoy to Bhutan Ruchira Kamboj has been appointed the country’s Permanent Representative to the UN. The 58-year-old senior diplomat was India’s first female Ambassador to Bhutan and has previously served as India’s Ambassador to UNESCO. She worked on the reform and expansion of the UN Security Council in 2014 and has handled India’s relationship with the Commonwealth of Nations.
