Authorities in Pakistan’s Punjab province are set to impose an ’emergency’ due to rising rape cases, Atta Tarar, the province’s Home Minister has said. Tarar added that all cases henceforth will be reviewed by the Cabinet Committee on Rape and Law and Order. Additionally, civil society and rights groups will be consulted to keep a check on such cases.
