Captain Monica Khanna piloted the SpiceJet Patna-Delhi flight that made an emergency landing after a bird hit caused sparks in its engine. She’s an Emirates Aviation University alumna who joined SpiceJet in 2018 and has also worked for Jet Airways. Khanna and First Officer Balpreet Singh Bhatia were praised for remaining calm and landing the 185-passenger flight on one engine.
