Amritsar, October 18, 2023 -(PNO) – The C Zone Youth Festival at Guru Nanak Dev University kicked off with great fervor and enthusiasm in the iconic Dasmesh Auditorium of the University. An enthralling item of the folk orchestra took center stage, setting the tone for an event filled with cultural vibrancy and artistic fervor. Various teams, brimming with talent and enthusiasm, delivered exceptional performances, and a myriad of orchestras added to the enchanting ambiance of the event. The rich melodies and captivating rhythms of these orchestras not only entertained the audience but also served as a testament to the enduring significance of traditional folk music, showcasing the diverse cultural tapestry that the festival aims to celebrate. The beats of Nagada echoed through the air, infusing the atmosphere with a pulse of energy and cultural resonance during the festival inauguration.

The festival was formaly inaugurated by Prof. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Dean of Student’s Welfare, who lit the ceremonial lamps, marking the commencement of the event. Dr. Amandeep Singh, Incharge of Youth Welfare, and other dedicated team members graced the occasion with their presence, setting the stage for an eventful festival.

The event has attracted a substantial number of student-artists from various colleges affiliated with Guru Nanak Dev University in the Jalandhar district. With their participation, the festival promises to be a true celebration of talent, culture, and artistic expression.

The C Zone Youth Festival is planned to take place at various venues within the University, including the Dasmesh Auditorium, Guru Nanak Bhavan Auditorium, the Conference Hall, and the Architecture Department. This diverse array of venues will provide an ideal backdrop for the myriad of artistic expressions that will be on display throughout the festival.

Speaking about the festival, Prof. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The Youth Festivals are not just events; these are celebration of the rich cultural heritage and exceptional talent that our university and affiliated colleges possess. We look forward to an incredible showcase of creativity and artistry.” The C Zone Youth Festival is poised to be a spectacular event that promises to celebrate the essence of youth, culture, and artistry.

On first day the items of Folk Orchestra, Bhangra and Group Dance were organized in the Dasmesh Auditorium.  On the stage of Guru Nanak Bhawan, Vaar Singing, Kawishri, Classical Instrumental Percussion & Non-Percussion and Classical Vocal were held. On the Architecture Department stage, Painting on the Spot, Cartooning, Collage, Clay Modeling, On the Spot Photography and Installation were organized and the Quiz Preliminary was held at Conference Hall of the University.

Dr. Amandeep Singh said that on October 19, Costume Parade, Mime, Mimicry, Skit and One Act Play will be held in Dasmesh Auditorium and Group Shabad/Bhajan, Group Song Indian, Geet/Gazal, Folk Song competitions will be organized in the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium. On the stage of Architecture Department, Rangoli, Phulkari, Mehndi & Poster Making and in the Conference hall, Poetical Symposium, Elocution and Debate will be organized.

On Octoberr 20, He said that Classical Dance and Gidha will be organized in the Dasmesh Auditorium and in the Guru Nanak Bhawan, the competitions of Western Vocal Solo, Western Group Song and Western Instrumental Solol will be organized. On this day prize distribution function will be organized in the Dasmesh Auditorium of the University.
