Aman Sharma has expressed his intention to host the 1st World Traditional Sports and Games in India

His commitment to the cause is underscored by his participation in UNESCO’s Ad hoc Advisory Committee on Traditional Sports and Games during the 3rd Collective Consultation in 2017, as well as his role as an Advisory Committee Member of the International Council of Traditional Sports and Games. Through these engagements, Sharma has actively contributed to the promotion and safeguarding of traditional sports and games, shaping policies that encourage their recognition and inclusion on national and global platforms.

Sharma’s affiliation with UNESCO’s Advisory Committee has facilitated collaborative efforts with numerous countries, fostering international goodwill and mutual understanding by promoting the exchange of traditional sports and games. Thanks to his dedicated endeavors, traditional sports and games have gained recognition on the global stage, promoting cultural dialogue and diversity.

In his capacity as the Secretary General of India’s Association of Traditional Sports and Games, Sharma has spearheaded various initiatives and campaigns aimed at reviving and popularizing these activities. Through the organization of exhibitions, tournaments, and workshops, he has effectively raised awareness and kindled interest, particularly among the younger generation.

Mr. Sharma has engaged in meaningful discussions with Sports Ministers from various UNESCO member states, advocating for the preservation of traditions through sports and games on a global scale. Noteworthy individuals he has collaborated with include Turkish Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Gambia’s Sports Minister Hadrammeh Sidibeh, Sri Lanka’s Sports Minister Faiszer Mustapha, Kyrgyzstan’s Sports Minister Kanat Amankulov, the Ivory Coast’s Sports Minister Paulin Danho, Serbia’s Sports Minister Vanja Udovicic, Qatar’s Culture and Sports Minister Salah Ghanem Al-Majeed, Michael Mustapha, Director of Sports Sierra Leone, and Mr. Mtolea, a Member of Parliament from Tanzania.

Aman Kumar Sharma’s extensive involvement in international committees and associations has made significant contributions towards recognizing and promoting traditional sports and games. Thanks to his relentless efforts, traditional sports and games have garnered international acclaim and have experienced a successful revival and popularization in India.
