Makers of ‘Jawan’ file FIR over leaked clips of the Shah Rukh Khan film

Red Chillies Entertainment, the makers of the Shah Rukh Khan film Jawan have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) alleging that clips from the movie have been leaked on social media.The complaint points to copyright infringement and five X (formerly Twitter) users have been issued legal notices for leaking the clips that have gone viral.Reportedly, Pradeep Nimani, the chief financial officer of Red Chillies Entertainment, said that the cast and crew of the movie were strictly prohibited from using any electronic devices on the sets during the shoot. The company had approached Delhi High Court over the matter. And the court directed the social media platform to remove the clips and identify the accounts that posted them. The court also has asked X, the social media platform to share subscriber details like emails, IP addresses, and phone numbers, of those who leaked the clips.While the handles have been identified, the police are investigating to find the source from where the clip was leaked. The police said an FIR under section 379 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act has been registered, Hindustan Times reported. Jawan, directed by Atlee, stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupati. The movie will be released on September 7.
