Bird flu kills nearly 3,500 sea lions in Peru

Nearly 3,500 sea lions in Peru have recently died of H5N1 avian influenza, five times as many as previously reported, the government said on Thursday. The WHO recently warned that all the countries should take the risk from H5N1 bird flu virus seriously and urged for “heightened vigilance” after an 11-year-old girl in Cambodia died due to it.
