Indian shuttler PV Sindhu, seeded fifth, crashed out of India Open 2023 in New Delhi on Tuesday. The world number seven lost to world number 30 Supanida Katethong 14-21, 20-22 in women’s singles. This is Sindhu’s second consecutive first-round exit. She lost to Spain’s Carolina Marin at last week’s Malaysia Open. Men’s singles defending champion Lakshya Sen entered second round.
