Fans at 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar at risk of ‘camel flu’ infection: Report

Experts backed by World Health Organization (WHO), in a study published in the journal ‘New Microbes and New Infections’, listed ‘camel flu’ or Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) as an infection risk during the four-week-long 2022 FIFA World Cup. MERS is caused by a coronavirus. Camels are known to be the origin of MERS.
