Gopal Krishna Gokhale bridge in Mumbai’s Andheri has been declared unsafe by a consultancy firm hired by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and may be shut for vehicular traffic from Monday. The firm said bridge’s elements like RCC columns and girders have lost their strength due to corrosion. BMC has requested Mumbai Traffic Police to work on alternative route for motorists.
