World number one Iga Świątek becomes first-ever woman from Poland to win US Open

World number one Iga Świątek defeated world number five Ons Jabeur in the women’s singles final to become the first-ever woman from Poland to win the US Open title. The 21-year-old won the US Open 2022 final with a scoreline of 6-2, 7-6(7-5). Świątek has now won three Grand Slam titles, including French Open 2020 and 2022 titles.
