Almost five years after she was murdered, journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh’s murder trial began at a Bengaluru sessions court. The 55-year-old editor of Lankesh Patrike was shot dead outside her home in September 2017. Of the 18 accused, 17 have been arrested, and the court will hear the matter for five days during the second week of every month.
