An official of UNICEF posted in Islamabad has alleged she was raped by her guard at her residence, reports said on Thursday. Islamabad Police said they were on the lookout for the accused who was absconding.
Pakistan daily Dawn reported that the UNICEF official, who was a Swedish national, filed a complaint with Aabpara police against a security guard deployed at her residence who she alleged raped her. According to the police, the victim had been working in Pakistan since January this year.
According to the FIR, the guard was deployed at her residence since March 11, the publication reported. The accused allegedly entered her bedroom and overpowered her. The guard tried to suffocate the victim and later raped her. Aabpara police said a case had been registered and a team was constituted to trace the guard who escaped after committing the crime, Dawn reported.
