Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu rode an elephant in Punjab to protest against rising prices. Sharing pictures of the protest, Sidhu wrote, “Inflation devalues money of Farmers, Labourers, Middle class families, while earnings remain same.” Sidhu was protesting before the Supreme Court sentenced him to one-year rigorous imprisonment in a three-decade-old road rage case.
