Australian minister accuses China of interference ahead of federal polls

Australian minister Karen Andrews on Wednesday suggested that China deliberately announced its security pact with Solomon Islands ahead of Australian federal polls in a bid to derail Liberal Party’s re-election. She further claimed that China wants the Labor Party to win elections. Notably, Labor Party has claimed that Australian government’s inability to stall pact is a foreign policy failure.
