A cab driver, Kiran Kumar, was arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly extorting ₹20 lakh and gold from a woman, who booked his cab in November 2022. Kumar heard her conversation where she discussed her marital problems and contacted her posing as a friend, police said. She allegedly gave him money as he threatened to “expose her secrets” to her husband.
