Linthoi Chanambam, a 16-year-old judoka from Manipur, has become the first-ever Indian to become judo world champion. Linthoi defeated Brazil’s Bianca Reis in women’s 57-kg category final at Cadet World Championships 2022 on Friday. She scripted history by becoming the world champion by winning India’s first-ever gold medal at the Worlds across any age group, Sports Authority of India said.
