Painting of Tipu Sultan’s victory over British sold in UK for ₹6 crore

A painting depicting the historic victory of Mysore ruler Haider Ali and his son Tipu Sultan over the East India Company in 1780 was sold in London on Wednesday for £630,000 (₹6.2 crore). “Leading the charge in today’s Arts of the Islamic World & India auction so far, this monumental 32-foot/ 9-metre Pollilur battlescene,” Sotheby’s wrote in a tweet.
